Senior Jared Farlow returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns and Central Christian’s newest faces continued to showcase their talents for the Crusaders in a 40-12 victory over Solid Rock Academy of Riverdale on Friday at East Coweta Middle School’s McKnight Field. Farlow finished with 285 total yards, as Central improved its record to 2-0 heading into another non-division game at home next week against Appling Christian (1-2). CENTRAL CHRISTIAN 40, SOLID ROCK 12: Farlow finished 6-for-7 passing for 142 yards on offense to go with 35 and 60 yard interception returns on defense for touchdowns. Central jumped out to a commanding 24-0 lead after one quarter. Touchdowns from Jaquez Blackmon and Farlow, off his first interception, pushed the lead to 16-0. Freshman Chris Nugent made it 24-0 to cap off the first-quarter scoring on a 45-yard run. Marcellus Giles also scored in the victory. Avery Staples finished with seven tackles for the Crusaders while Jesse Parkerson and Jordan Fuller added five and four, respectively. Cole Dooley and Bailey Todd also had big plays on defense in the win.
